A Family That Built Things Right

I was raised around people who took pride in what their hands could do. My father built over a thousand beautiful, high-quality homes. My stepfather, a Polish immigrant who came here chasing the American Dream, spent more than thirty years as the top window installer in our area. He was the man the biggest brands trusted with their name. In my family, you measured twice. You kept your word. You didn’t leave until it was right.

I grew up believing that’s how the whole world worked.

Then I got older, looked around the home improvement industry, and saw the opposite: corners cut, calls never returned, homeowners treated like transactions. The trade my family gave their lives to was losing the one thing it can’t survive without. Trust.

The Teardown

But before I could fix an industry, I had to fix myself.

There was a stretch of my life when I was the guy who said one thing and did another. I was carrying weight I didn’t know how to face, and I spent years numbing it instead of dealing with it, until my body finally sent me the bill.

The turn wasn’t a lightning bolt. It was a decision I had to make again every single morning: if there’s no light, be the light. I stopped waiting to feel better and started rebuilding my word, my health, and my standards, one day at a time. I didn’t find a new life. I built one. On purpose. From the studs up.
